One of the greatest things is, it points the finger to "Protestantism" and not to "Fundamentalism".

In my experience of Modernist Lutherans, they tend to get parts of Church History about as wrong, though not as broadly so, as these Baptists. And probably these errors on Church History are shared by Modernist Baptists, like Old Earth Believers and such./HGL

Note that he has here either identified Catholicism and Fundamentalism and also identified Protestantism and Modernism, which is profoundely correct, but in some areas superficially paradoxical, or said that Modernist/Fundie-Trad divide is a totally other question with these words:

Now I think an honest reading of the Church Fathers themselves will support the Catholic position on any of the major issues dividing Catholics and non-Catholics.
